What are Employable Skills?
Many work coaches, career advisers, and recruitment agencies will explore CV Writing, Preparing for an Interview, Interview Techniques, And Job Applications - But we take this further and build your employable skills around you.
Our Employable Skills Workshop will help you identify your skills, interests, needs, and harness this with a career direction which is both achievable and fulfilling.
The aim of the workshop is not to get you into a job during the 10 weeks.
The 10 weeks are focused on recognising your potential, reflecting on your current education/work experience, testing yourself and preparing to manage the demands of working. The 10 weeks aims to leave you having developed a lot of core skills you will need to pursue your career and stay in work.
Throughout the workshop we will:
1. Develop team-working skills
2. Improve our communication skills
3. Challenge ourselves through different exercises
4. Start finding career direction
5. Understand what a good CV looks like
6. Meet and Learn from local employers
7. Learn about how we manage challenges in work
8. Reflect on our own strengths and needs
9. Interview with our trademark 'role-reversed interview model'
10. Set SMART Goals and begin achieving together
